Does it matter if you have diabetes when taking a urine drug test?
My mom wants to drug test me to make sure I quit smoking which I was suppose to I am slowly trying to quit by reducing smoking from every day to once in a while but i need to give her a urine sample but I know I will come out dirty so my friend said he would replace my urine with his but he has diabetes my question is if it would matter in the test?
First of all, be honest with your mother that you continue to smoke, but that you’re reducing your intake slowly so that you don’t relapse when you finally do quit.
Second of all, and not that I want to help you lie to your Mom, but the fact that he has diabetes won’t show up. The tests for diabetes and drugs are completely separate.
no, insulin is not a drug. it’s a hormone.

Be honest at all times especially with your mother!! Don’t make her more suspicious of you than she already is.
Now I will tell you why you absolutely MUST quit smoking! I was stupid when I was in college and started smoking. Now I have COPD and it hurts a lot when I can’t breathe or quit coughing. The medication that helps the most makes glucose control so much harder. Corticosteroids help the breathing! They also make control a thing of the past in glucose numbers and my A1c has gone from a lovely 5.7 to near 13 in the past 6 months since I started on the Advair! I am taking about twice the insulin I did before, but even that is not helping some days.
I have not changed any other facet of my existance other than to take the Advair! I watch food plan very carefully, I do my daily movements. I take my medications.
Do you want non control of your Diabetes in the future? Keep on smoking, hon! It is your life after all, not your mother’s or mine!
