My mom is diabetic. She eats A LOT of sweets, starches and actually seems disappointed when her blood sugar is in the normal range!

I’m curious… what would some folks who have diabetes feel when their blood sugar is really high? Do they feel different? what are the side effects of eating badly and having the high blood sugar readings?

I’ve always thought that insulin is to be measured according to what a diabetic eats and the blood sugar reading, NOT what they’re GOING to eat and (not) adjusting insulin as a precautionary bandaid! <<- my mother does that and my father and I can’t get it through to her that she shouldn’t take chances like that. She REALLY likes it when her blood sugar is in the high 300’s! What is considered extremely dangerous? To me 300 sounds dangerous! My mom doesn’t seem the least bit worried about it.

I want to talk with her dr, because I’m concerned, but not sure if it’s my place to?

Thank you in advance for reading this and your help!
