@lizhutson – Hey Liz, there is every chance of a cure some where down the road! But when it’ll come i have no idea! I challenge you to call your daughters diabetes nurse or consultant & ask 1: Is my daughter a type 1 or a type 2! If type 1 ask…is she off insulin temporarily due to a honey moon period! If shes is type 1 i already know the answer to that! (Yes! shes going through a honey moon period) My nephew who was diagnosed with type 1 in 2005 was taken off insulin for 8 months due to that

Emma’s diagnosis as T1 has been re-confirmed. Her consultant, even though he does not understand how we are achieving this and would like to be able to explain it away by the honeymoon period or some more unusual type of diabetes, he can’t. A honeymoon period does not last nearly two years

@whisperthetube It’s a great dvd – very inspiring. You don’t have to go completely raw (would be too difficult for Emma as a 15 year old with a social life) but having a high proportion of raw does fast track progress, as we have discovered, first hand. No-one can diss it until they try it. If you REALLY want to try to cure Diabetes you would have the guts and determination to give it a shot before blasting poor Halle Berry and others who have done it. She/we are only trying to be helpful.

@whisperthetube PS the last couple of sentences aren’t aimed at you, by the way. They are aimed at the many who are just too bigoted or undisciplined to try new things. It is easy to take a pot shot at others – it’s a lot harder to get off your backside and do something about it!!

Hello everyone I haven’t commented for about 9 months, but let me inform you….
I am a type one diabetic who has not taken a drop of insulin for almost 2 years now. Halle Berry is like me….she has not magically turned into a type two, she just puts herself in the “type two category”. I tell this to people sometimes to help them understand my situation better. I keep my blood sugar levels down by watching my diet and exercising, Just like lizhutson’s daughter. Any questions? Let me know.

@lizhutson Still insulin free thank you! My bgs are about 80-120. My recent a1c was in the diabetic range, but so were my blood sugars. That was the kick in the butt that i needed to watch my diet and excercise more. (I kind of let myself go with the hassle of finals at school and all the pressure that goes with that…) But for the past month my levels are back to normal. I also posted a comment on your profile about the antibodies situation. Glad that Emma is still doing good! -Stephanie

@samgrossmith My diet plan basically consists of balance. I eat up to 60 carbs per meal and 15-30 for snacks. I eat a snack 2-3 times a day. I make sure to include protien, a carb (like bread, pasta, &chips) and a fruit or vegetable. I am big on protien and fiber-make sure that is in everything you eat. I also never eat anything that has high fructose corn syrup. Regardless of what the ads say, this is the worst ingreident for a diabetic to put in their bodie. let me know anything else u need
