Hungry when my blood sugar is 108, is it insulin resistance/pre-diabetes/diabetes?
I have a blood sugar of 108 after 2 hours after my dinner. I feel hungry with this blood sugar level? Does it mean i have some problem related to insulin resistance/pre-diabetes/diabetes?
your just hungry… blood sugar level has nothing to do whether or not you are hungry, yes you may need to eat when your bs drops low but your body is regulating your bs like it should and its still processing your dinner and if you are still hungry and not trying to lose weight then eat more to cure your appetite, 108 is completely normal you are not diabetic! If you normally have a lower bs I bet your meal was full of carbohydrates which is a form of sugar, and takes a while for your body to use up and digest all of it.
and not to be rude please stop being a hypochondriac!
Glucometers are not guaranteed to be more than 25% accurate. Some are right on the spot with the labs but others may be really off high or low. In order to find out where yours is, have your doctor order HbA1c blood draw and check your glucose level when the phlebotomist takes your blood sample. When you get the results back check the number you got at the lab with the labs number. Adjust your thinking accordingly. Anything within 5 mg/dL is really excellent on meter. But I have one of the highly advertised meters that is 45 off.
Just go to the doctors office and get blood work done so you can relieve your mind.
Your blood sugar is only PART of the question. the MAIN driving force about “feeling hungry” is the emptiness of your stomach.
108 is a solid, absolutely NORMAL blood sugar reading. you need to work to KEEP your blood sugar in the range of 80-120. but ANY time you eat, your blood sugar WILL go up for a short period of time.
to stop getting hungry, eat a diet that has more fiber — vegetables are good, and whole-grain products. the fiber takes longer to digest, and therefore you feel less hungry for a longer time.
