When some1 is just diagnosed with diabetes and their blood sugar is over 500 how long does that person have to stay in the hospital? And is it really nessessary for them to go to the hospital in the first place?

dont go to the hospital for everything, just dont over eat and it wont even happen, take your insulin, run a bit and wait, people theses days get a splinter and go to the hopital, so lazy, gosh.

yes it could be coma time for you but so far you didnt’ go into one and they are going to keep you there till they have it down abit. you just have no idea how dangerous this can be. your organs and stuff can shut down and your eyes can bleed and bad things can happen with it being so high. its very smart to have them get it down fast and learn what you have to do with it either its insulin or pills. you shoud keep the sugars (blood) down to 100 or lower and they have meds for this and stuff to help but you have to help yourself also. take care.

it depends on the person , but as far as i know 500 is extremely high blood sugar. those of us that do no have diabetes usually range from about 100-135 again this too depends on the person .. hope it helps :)
