odd diabetes questions?
hello. im a 15 year old boy. when i was little, my mom said i had some sort of food allergy where i got grumpy when I ate sugar. To me, it sounded like diabetes. However, she says it wasn’t, and i remember having to go to some doctor yearly to get a shot, and couldn’t eat certain foods for 3 days. Does anyone know what this is? I have no clue. Could it lead to diabetes? thankyou.
There is nothing wrong with you. You are 15. 15 is hard, wait a few years and then decide if you think you have a problem. I doubt you will.
To me it sounds like you were allergic to a particular thing. Doctors give you shots for food allergies to build up your immunity to the food so you don’t have the reaction to it.
check out “eat right for your blood type.” google it.
It’s not diabetes. Some people have food allergies (probably most people if they knew it) or “sensitivities”, also chemical/environmental. Sugar is made from corn, also from beets. If one messes you up, try the other.
When I was treated for food allergy, I was to put “food drops” under my tongue and, of the things I was allergic to, to eat all I wanted of a food at one meal, then not again for 5 days, so there would be two sides to the war of fighting the allergy. Then I learned to give myself allergy shots in the thigh – not easy!
I did a Yahoo search for Theron Randolph who wrote books about food allergies when most doctors didn’t believe there was such a thing, and there is a lot on him. Thanks for your questions, because I’d really like to know what the thinking is about this problem now. See, I believe everyone should be tested for allergy, and there would be a whole lot fewer people in mental hospitals and prisons if they know what was causing the problems! Yes, I’m weird, but so are a lot of other people.

If it was diabetes you would really need more than one shot per year. So dont worry about it being diabetes.
sounds like a food allergy. If it were diabetes it would of been type 1 and you would know it you would still be on insulin as a type 1 diabetic you need insulin all the time. So your fine
