If i get an insulin pump which should i get? i think i should get the omnipod but what do you recomend?

When some1 is just diagnosed with diabetes and their blood sugar is over 500 how long does that person have to stay in the hospital? And is it really nessessary for them to go to the hospital in the first place?

Hey there, PLEASE read :

im a sophomore in HS and i was recently diagnosed with type 1 (juvenile) diabetes about 2 and a 1/2 months ago. ANd now it’s my spring break and we are flying to orlando, florida tomorrow for a week and i haven’t been on vacation yet since i was diagnosed. Where i live, i havent had a chance to experiment with being active outside during warm weather to see how my blood sugar reacts.

My problem is that i’m not sure what i should do different in FL because its going to be an average of 80 degrees every day and we will be going to universal studios a couple times and doing lots of walking there, probably.

I don’t have a pump yet so i will have to carry a bag with me to the park with all my supplies in it.

PLEASE PLEASE give me some tips if you have any about vacation for the first time ! (:

I have always been very small. I weighed 98lbs prepregnancy. I have only gained 11 lbs and I am 27wks. I failed the first glucose test. I go for the next one next week. I am really worried that if I have GD how in the world will I keep my weight up? It is like going on a diet and I can’t afford to do that. Any suggestions. Thanks!

doctor is not really experienced with this. I asked the insurance compny and they said that I have to see ENDOCRINOLOGIST. Is this the right type of doctor to see? If not, who should I see, what doctor?
