She eats A LOT of sweets, starches and actually seems disappointed when her blood sugar is in the normal range!

I’m curious… what would some folks who have diabetes feel when their blood sugar is really high? Do they feel different? what are the side effects of eating badly and having the high blood sugar readings?

I’ve always thought that insulin is to be measured according to what a diabetic eats and the blood sugar reading, NOT what they’re GOING to eat and (not) adjusting insulin as a precautionary bandaid! <<- my mother does that and my father and I can’t get it through to her that she shouldn’t take chances like that. She REALLY likes it when her blood sugar is in the high 300′s! What is considered extremely dangerous? To me 300 sounds dangerous! My mom doesn’t seem the least bit worried about it.

I want to talk with her dr, because I’m concerned, but not sure if it’s my place to?

At first I was upset about it but realized I had to suck it up and put on my big girl panties and just deal with it for the sake of my little bean. I’m 28 weeks pregnant. I have to meet with a dietitian August 11 and they will tell me what to eat and how to check my sugar. Question #1 is, what can I eat until then to be healthy and get a jump start on the diet? Question #2 is, do they normally induce labor if you have GD? If so, at what week? Well, I guess that’s 3 questions. :) Thank you for your help in advance!
