I have gestational diabetes and am insulin dependant. I am worried that my diabetes is going to affect my baby
and that he is going to be still born. My diabetes is controlled but I think not well enough- When I mention it the doc. they don’t really do much.. I am at 30 weeks right now and my fasting numbers are at 150 and after meals the dr wants them below 95 while mine are running in the 120s. At what numbers does it start doing damage to the baby? Should I be worried? As of now my baby is 3lbs, not too big-

I have had insulin dependent diabetes for 32 years. What are the links with liver disease?
I have already been diagnosed with gastroparesis, and have been taking prilosec, or previced for years. I don’t feel good. I am worried that it is either my kidneys, or my liver. I am going to the doctor on Mon. But it wouldn’t hurt to know more.

Insulin signaling and autism
A review of the genetic and biochemical abnormalities associated with autism reveals a possible link between the widely diagnosed neurological disorder and Type 2 diabetes, another medical disorder on the rise in recent decades. “It appears that both Type 2 diabetes and autism have a common underlying mechanism — impaired glucose tolerance and hyperinsulinemia,” said Rice University biochemist Michael Stern, author of the opinion paper, which appears online in this month’s issue of Frontiers in Cellular Endocrinology. Why do insulin injections treat type II diabetes?
I’m studying for my cellular biology exam, and my textbook says Type II diabetes develops when cell-surface receptors stop functioning normally and thus can’t receive the message being sent by insulin to import glucose from the bloodstream. So why is diabetes treated with insulin injections if the problem isn’t insulin production but rather the cell’s inability to recognize insulin? I feel like there shouldn’t be any effect if the cell isn’t recognizing insulin in the first place.

I have type 1 diabetes, but am now producing insulin. What is the best way to slowly “get off of” insulin?
I am definitely doing this, so please do not attempt to convince me otherwise. I want to know how to slowly get off of insulin. I am no longer taking it before dinnertime, and have reduced my dosage for other meals as well as my long-lasting insulin (Lantus). Should I just stop taking it with another mealtime (lunch or breakfast) or slowly6 reduce the dosage until I can tolerate none.
No, I didn’t lose weight.

question about Lantus insulin for diabetes?
Has anyone experienced weakness or seizures using Lantus? I have been taking it for about 3 weeks now . I didn’t feel this way before taking lantus. My doctor said that it isn’t the lantus. I just want to make sure that no one else has experienced that.
