I have recently found out that I am “borderline” Diabetic. I also have hirsutism, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and high blood pressure.

I am taking Metformin, spironolactone, and bupropion. The metformin is for the diabetes, the spironalactone is for the high blood pressure and hirsutism. and the bupropion is to help me quit smoking.

I am having a very very very hard time trying to change my lifestyle and lose weight. I was told that if I were to lose weight i would get rid of all of these complications i am having.

I have done some research on the medication and the diabetes, but i am having a hard time differentiating the foods i can eat. One medication says I can only eat these kind of foods, and the others say the opposite. As well as the foods i should eat with diabetes, I just need to know what foods i should eat, so i can have an easier time getting better

She takes 2 injections a day plus pills and lately in the middle of the night her sugar level has been dropping in the low 60′s. Does anyone know why this keeps happening?

Diabetes Education & Information

She needs the small meals because of gastroparesis. Also has mild diverticulosis. Her diabetes is controlled with one daily dose of Glucophage.

I Just want to know just incase next time I go to the doctors I get my blood results and if they tell me news I don’t wanna hear. Oh and by the way if you do have type 2 diabetes do you or don’t you need insulin ? I am thinking you don’t but i am not fully sure .

My husband told me that he had a mild case of diabetes but that it was nothing to worry about. Today when I looked in the fridge I saw some of those little insulin bottles. Was he lying to me? Does diabetes need to be severe to need insulin?

okay i am interested on doing a science fair project on diabetes because Nick Jonas has diabetes and im really interested but i need a question like what causes diabetes? but i didn’t think it was a good one .Im in 8th grade so it has to be a good project HELP!?!

I am diagnosed “borderline diabetic” by my doctor. ….am probably even more across the “border” now since I have gained additional weight since diagnosed with borderline diabetes a while ago….and high blood pressure as well..due to being probably 95 lbs. overweight.
I feel weak when I try to diet…low fat…low carbs normal protein……grumpy…and hateful.
When I try to go on Atkins…that was HORRIBLE for causing water retention…more than my usual…from all the sodium involved in those protein overloads…….and bad for high blood pressure.It is imperative that I get on a eating style that will help me lose gradually, healthily, and PERMANENTLY……But, what is a good diet plan for my “almost” -(if not “for sure”) diabetes? I’m miserable…No energy….hurting legs and feet…I’m a hairstylist of 33 years old that stands on my feet all day…they swell due to that, being overweight, and hurt from the water in my ankles….much pain…..I feel 80 years old…..HELP…????

I would like to know about the two types of diabetes, how the body controls diabetes, what causes it/ what is it, how our body controls sugar levels what organs are to do with diabetes, how and I would also like equations included (I like to be in the know :p) and I heard some stuff about enzymes having something to do with it. I have checked on the net but do not understand it very well so I would please, please, PLEASE like a detailed answer I was a little scared and first of becoming her friend because I thought she would faint or something but I would like to know more about the condition as my grandfather also suffers from it I I don’t want to be ignorant. I would like a very detailed answers please answering all of the above.

I invited several of my daughter’s friends (ages 3-4) from her daycare to a luau party – the parents of a playmate my daughter particularly likes have sent the RSVP card saying their coming… then, out of the blue, my 3 year old says Mommy, he pokes his finger and makes it bleed. I said Honey why would he do that? She said to check his blood sugar. The fact that she knows this means obviously that she has seen / heard of him doing this and that it’s important.

Therefore, my questions – what suggestions do you have for a menu that would be appropriate for a luau where a child has diabetes? Any recipes? Suggestions? Should I call the mom and ask – (not wanting them to feel akward) I really know my daughter likes this playmate and want him to feel welcome and not left out of “treats” … Thanks
