I have type 2 diabetes. I am not on meds yet. How long do you have type 2 before you start seeing side effects? Like when do you have issues with your fingers and toes? I noticed my wounds take longer to heal. Do they ever heal??

What other meds can I take for diabetes type 2 besides going on insulin?
I have tried Actos & Avandia in the past (retained water like crazy). I have also tried Metformin (my stomach cannot handle even 500mg). I have been taking only Januvia for a month, but it is not helping to control it enough. I eat a fairly good diabetic diet and walk every day. Should I get stricter still with my diet & exercise even more?

Take a low dose aspirin in order to lower hematocrit levels? Prevent type 2 diabetes?
I read that an increased hematocrit level (approx more than 52%) goes along with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes. Will taking a daily low dose of aspirin help reduce hematocrit levels, therefore less strain on the pancreas (i.e. less risk of diabetes) ??
Thanks!

Can someone take insulin tablets ihey suspect they might have diabetes but are afraid to discover it?
I have a friend who is nearly 50 and gets fainting spells from time to time & feels tired easily & has some short term memory loss. He feels he might have diabetes but is afraid to find out because psychologically he is not prepared.
He is thinking about trying out insulin tablets just to see if that helps.
Is there a danger in doing so ?
Any comments or suggestions ?
He doesn’t know English.
