Yes an endocrinologist would be a good doctor to see if you are concerned about diabetes. This is a doctor that deals with hormones and regulation of them in the body.

Yes an endocrinologist specializes in diseases that effect your glands. Diabetes is a disorder of the pancreas gland. While many general practitioners take care of their diabetic patients, it is always best to seek out an endocrinologist when dealing with diabetes. My mom has had diabetes for years and had trouble keeping it under control until we insisted on her seeing an endocrinologist several years ago. I really believe she would not be with us today if she was not seeing this doctor.

Dear James, an Endocrinologist would be a good choice. My Endo deals with thyroid issues, diabetes and metabolism, because they actually all go hand-in-hand. It would be wonderful if you could find one that specializes in diabetes. After you obtain a list of doctors approved by your insurance, you may want to do a google search to find out a little bit of information for each doctor. You can read about their area of expertise and choose the right one for you. The best to you…I know diabetes isn’t easy to deal with…it’s a good idea to get a good handle on it from the start…take your meds and watch your diet…you will be ok.
